In short

This website is a plain information site. There is no user account and no contact form. We only process the data necessary for the site's technical operation and the functions described below.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you visit the site, the hosting provider automatically processes technical access data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser used), as is technically necessary for any web server to deliver the page and maintain system security. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Hetzner.

Cookies

This site sets exactly one cookie: i18n_redirected, which remembers your chosen language (German/English) for one year. It serves only this purpose, does not allow cross-site tracking, and is never used for analytics or marketing. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing the site in the right language (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Analytics

We use Umami, self-hosted analytics software that runs on our own server (no data is sent to any third party). Umami does not use cookies and does not store IP addresses or any other unique identifier; a visit is only counted anonymously and in aggregate (e.g. page visited, country of origin, browser type), so individual visitors cannot be recognized across days or websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how this site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Locally stored preferences

Your light/dark theme preference is stored only in your browser (localStorage). This information is never transmitted to our server and is not known to us.

Fonts

The fonts used on this site (IBM Plex Sans/Mono) are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google's servers or any other third-party font provider, and no data is transmitted to third parties for this purpose.

Contacting us by email

The links on this site only open your own email application with a pre-filled address. No data is sent to our website in the process — only once you actually send the email do we process the data you provide (e.g. your email address and message content) to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR (handling the inquiry, or our legitimate interest in responding to it).

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
